If we win the finals, we're burning the city down!
I'm standing here with Trent Simonian, the creator of Side Talk,
famously interviews Knicks fans.
Knicks in four! Knicks in four!
It started for fun.
We did not expect that there was going to be massive crowds
outside of Madison Square Garden.
New York is ****ed up!
And then we realized, OK, we might have a little something here.
These Knicks fans are pretty passionate.
Tell me a little something, KP.
Don't you regret not coming to the Knicks?
Don't you regret not coming to the Knicks?
After Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, fans streamed out of the arena.
Many of them were already out on the streets from these watch parties.
And police say they arrested six fans in conjunction with the celebrations.
Because of that, NYPD denied a permit for these watch parties to continue.
So at least for now, those are on hold.
At what point did you see something happen and think,
all right, that's not usual?
Year after year, there's more and more people
and crazier and crazier stuff happens.
I'm talking about, they climbing up on the building.
They're all going crazy.
I don't even know how he got up there.
How he got up there?
It's just craziness.
And I think Knicks fans, as we've seen,
are unlike any other fans in the world.
Ayo, LeBron!
When we see you in the finals, bring that same energy!
Do you have a favorite moment that you have?
The guy doing the seizure thing outside of the Celtics game.
It's one of the most viral GIFs on the internet.
I'm scared.
You're an example.
Bitch, you're ****ed.
You don't want to see me do this **** for life.
Our camera got broken.
Our microphone got broken.
I got scratched.
What's your strategy for uncovering the moments?
Because I know, talked about with you,
you want them to be authentic.
It gets crazy in there.
You got to have your shoulders out.
You got to have a secure base, a little pass protection.
We're very cautious about making sure the video feels authentic.
There's a lot of fans out here who now show up
with the intention of going viral,
and we're very aware of that,
and we don't include that in the video.
So, we got some fans right here.
Let's go, Nick!
Give me a break. We got to get out of here.
So you guys started this.
You haven't necessarily been the only ones to finish it.
A lot of other people have jumped in.
Yes.
As we'll call them copycats, trying to do the same thing.
I like the line, often imitated, never duplicated.
I think their videos are great.
I think ours are different, and I'm really proud of what we do.
And I think it's awesome that there's so many fans out here.
We're always very respectful.
We're just here to film fans having fun.
So, I think the police know that we're very respectful in that sense.
If they tell us to move down the street, we move down the street.
If they tell us enough's enough, shut the cameras down, we do that.
So, again, at the end of the day, we just want people to have fun,
and we're not encouraging any bad behavior.
And I think the police know and respect that.
